Signal data use
Data License
The MVP licence for using Signal records inside applications and agents without authorizing bulk republication, resale, competing datasets, or model-weight training.
Important
This MVP licence establishes the approved product boundary but should receive qualified intellectual-property and commercial review before broader licensing or syndication.
01
Licensed material
This licence applies only to original Keelbase Signal editorial synthesis, normalized public Signal records, Keelbase analysis, classifications, metadata, and correction lineage supplied through the public site or API.
It does not license third-party articles, images, software, documentation, datasets, trademarks, paywalled material, source databases, or other rights owned by third parties.
02
Licence grant
Subject to the Terms of Use and payment of any applicable x402 price, Keelbase grants the user a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to use licensed Signal material for internal research, internal analysis, agent workflows, and application features.
No ownership is transferred.
03
Permitted uses
- Retrieve and process Signal records inside an internal agent, application, research, compliance-support, governance, security, infrastructure, developer, or business workflow.
- Cache reasonable working copies needed to operate an authorized workflow.
- Create internal summaries, alerts, classifications, comparisons, or decisions that do not substitute for the licensed dataset itself.
- Display brief excerpts or individual records where attribution, source links, report dates, evidence states, limitations, and correction lineage remain visible.
- Use Signal as retrieval context for an application or agent where the underlying data is not exposed for bulk extraction or resale.
04
Caching and freshness
Caches must be proportionate to the authorized use and protected against unauthorized bulk access.
Applications using current intelligence should refresh active records regularly and must process published corrections or supersession notices with reasonable promptness.
A cached record must not be presented as current after the user knows it has been corrected, superseded, withdrawn, or materially updated.
05
Attribution
- Identify Keelbase Signal as the source of the original Signal synthesis or structured record.
- Preserve the canonical Signal URL, report date, and record identifier where available.
- Preserve links to the original third-party sources.
- Do not present Keelbase summaries as verbatim text from an underlying source.
- Do not remove evidence status, confidence, limitations, fixture status, or correction lineage where those fields are material to interpretation.
06
Restricted uses
- No bulk republication, public database mirroring, redistribution, syndication, or resale without a separate written agreement.
- No creation of a substantially substitutive or competing commercial intelligence dataset, feed, marketplace listing, or API.
- No sublicensing or making paid responses available for unrestricted third-party extraction.
- No removal of attribution, source provenance, limitations, fixture labels, or correction metadata.
- No use to imply ownership, permission, legal status, infringement, fraud, platform eligibility, monetization eligibility, or guaranteed outcome beyond what the evidence supports.
07
Model training
The licence does not permit use of Signal material to train, fine-tune, distill, or materially update model weights for a general-purpose, foundation, generative, or competing commercial model without a separate written agreement.
Retrieval, indexing, embedding, and temporary contextual use inside an authorized internal workflow are permitted where they do not create a redistributable substitute for the Signal dataset and remain consistent with the other licence restrictions.
08
Corrections and supersession
A user that republishes, displays, or operationally relies on a record must preserve correction and supersession information.
When Keelbase publishes a material correction, the user must update affected active outputs, caches, or downstream records with reasonable promptness and must not continue presenting the superseded statement as current.
09
Third-party rights
The licence covers only rights Keelbase controls in its original material. Third-party sources remain subject to their own copyright, database, contract, trademark, privacy, and access restrictions.
The user is responsible for determining whether its treatment of third-party source material requires additional permission.
10
Termination
The licence terminates automatically for material breach of the Terms of Use or this Data License.
After termination, the user must stop retrieving and redistributing licensed material and remove unauthorized copies, except for records that must be retained under applicable law or for documented audit and dispute purposes.
11
Separate agreements
Bulk feeds, resale, commercial redistribution, syndication, model training, white-label products, extensive archives, and other uses outside this licence require a separate written agreement with Keelbase.
